Over the years a lot of designs dropped out of the Design picker. They kept working for members already on them, but nobody new could choose them. At one point 49 of 82 were hidden.
Every one of them is back. The picker under Website now offers all 82, and if you are on one of the older designs, you will not see a message telling you it has been retired. It has not.
Filters for a long list
Eighty-two is a lot to scroll through, so the design grid now has filters: how many pages a design shows in its menu, whether it opens with a big image, and what it leads with. There is also Minimalistic, for designs with six pages or fewer, for actors who want a site that says less and says it clearly.
What changed across the catalog
Almost every design got attention this month. The changes you are most likely to notice:
- Sharper hero photos on 22 designs. They were stretching a small thumbnail across the whole screen. They now load your full-size photo.
- Your exact color on 20 designs. They used to compute lighter and darker shades from your brand color for menus and headers. They now use the color you picked, everywhere.
- Four designs rebuilt. Designs 5, 6, 7 and 11 were rebuilt on new layouts. Design 6, for example, is now a portfolio with a profile card, a scrolling ribbon of your credits, a filtered photo grid and a review slider.
This builds on earlier work making sure every design shows your own words, every design is checked before it ships, and every design reads your account.
Is it time to switch?
Your photos, credits and pages live in your account, not in the design, so a new design draws the same content in a new layout. That makes it safe to try. Pick one from the grid, look at your home page and your resume page, and switch back if it is not right.
The finishing touches from this month carry across too: animated backgrounds, your loading screen and a display font work on any design that supports them, and your photo overlay follows you to any design with a big opening photo. You can also browse the whole catalog before signing in.
